AC POWER CORD
Inspect the AC Power Cord.
Is the AC Power Cord plu
ed into the
back of the printer, and is the other end
plu
ed into an AC wall outlet?
Go to step 2. Connect the
AC Power Cord
to the printer,
and plu
it into
a wall outlet.
2
AC POWER
Check the volta
e at the wall outlet.
Is there approximatel
110 VAC (or 220
VAC for the 220 VAC model) at the AC
wall outlet?
Go to step 3. Troubleshoot
the AC power

1. Remove the C258MAIN.
2. Check the volta

P31-A11 and FG
P31-B11 and FG
Is there +5VDC between P31 and FG?
Note:
Since there is no convenient test point
on the HPS to check for +5VDC, this
step has
ou check four separate
+5VDC volta
es that run from the HPS
throu
h the PWBA Hotaru and on to the
C258MAIN throu
h J31. Althou
h not a
foolproof test, it should
ive
ou some
indication of whether or not the +5VDC
portion of the HPS is workin
correctl
.
Failure to read +5VDC on an
of the test
points most likel
reflect a HPS failure,
but in some cases an PWBA Hotaru
failure ma
ive
ou the same readin
s.
Go to step 6. Replace the
HPS
