The following is the installation procedure:
1. Aligning the single dowel, install {detector circuit board assembly-A} and secure it in place
with the single {CBS-tite M3x5} screw.
2. Connect the {lead wire-cover open detector} connector to {detector circuit board
assembly-A}
3. Install {lever-cover open} on {frame assembly}.
At this time, align the arm of {lever-cover open} between the two dowels on {frame
assembly} as shown in the illustration.
4. Secure {lever-cover open} with the single {RE 2.5} retaining ring.
Thermal head
CAUTION:
Note that {thermal head} becomes very hot during normal operation, creating the
danger of burn injury. Be sure to wait for about 10 minutes after turning printer power off
before beginning the following procedure.
When performing this procedure, be sure to use a grounded wrist band or take other
measures to protect against electrostatic charge. Failure to do so can result in damage
to {thermal head}.
Never touch the thermal element (the area that looks like it is marked with a thin black
line) of {thermal head} with your hand. Doing so can damage the heating element.
Whenever there is dirt or any other foreign matter on {thermal head}, clean it off with a
cotton swab moistened with alcohol.
1. Remove the three {CBS-tite M3x5} screws and then {strengthen plate-frame}.
2. Press {plate-spring press} toward [paper guide unit block] and then detach {plate-spring
press} from the two {frame assembly} tabs.
3. While holding the two {spring-press head} so they do not fly out, remove {plate-spring
press}.
