TM-T88 Series Technical Manual
Power Supply Circuit
The table below shows supply voltage values and their applications.
Filter Circuit
A +24C DC (24 ±7%) power supply is input from connector CN1 after passing through the filter
circuit. The filter circuit reduces external noise and protects against noise that is generated
internally from escaping through the +24V DC power supply.
+24V Control Circuit
The +24V power supply that from the filter is split between the printer power supply and +5V
(regulator circuit).
TM-T88 Power Supply
The +24V power supply is completely supplied through a FET (Q5). The FET (Q5) controls the
output condition (+24V output on/off) in accordance with signal SW24V_2, which is output
from the gate array (U5). The signal SW24V_2 is a circuit protection signal for the +24V system.
If abnormal voltage is detected, if the CPU detects an error, or if a CPU abnormality is detected,
the FET automatically turns off and +24V output is stopped. +24V output is OFF during system
reset and if +24V is not being used by the printer mechanism.
+5V Control Circuit
A +5 regulator circuit switches the input +24V power supply and converts it to +5V. The
switching regulator IC (U9) switches the input +24V, C50 and L3 perform smoothing, and +5V
voltage is output.
The RS-232 power supply is generated by a charge up circuit built into the RS-232 interface’s
onboard driver.
